A journey of commitment and leadership
Founded in 1983 under the name BEST Bank (Beit Ettamwil Saoudi Tounsi), Al Baraka Bank Tunisie is the very first Islamic banking institution established in Tunisia. A subsidiary of the international banking group Al Baraka Group B.S.C (c), headquartered in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the bank has established itself as the leading reference in participatory and ethical finance.
In 2013, the bank reached a historic milestone by becoming a resident universal bank, deploying a modern branch network to serve a steadily growing customer base of individuals, professionals, Tunisians residing abroad, and national and international companies.

Founding of the Bank in Tunisia
Creation of Beit Ettamwil Saoudi Tounsi (BEST Bank), the first offshore Islamic merchant bank in Tunisia.
Rebranding to Al Baraka Bank
Adoption of the unified brand of the international Al Baraka Group B.S.C, strengthening its global ties.
Conversion into a Resident Universal Bank
Obtained official approval from the Central Bank of Tunisia to operate as a resident universal bank, opening its retail network to individuals and businesses across the country.
Digital Transformation & Launch of BANECTI
Launch of the Banecti Web and Mobile digital platform to digitize 100% of everyday banking operations.
Recognition at the IFN Awards & Expansion
Won 5 prestigious awards at the Islamic Finance News Awards and expanded its network to more than 38 branches across all of Tunisia.
